Military Training

Enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserve, 25 November 1942, at Davis, California.
Assigned to active duty 5 March 1943 at Marine Barracks, Quantico, Virginia, Completed the Twenty-eighth Candidates Class, 29 June 1943, and honorably discharged.

COMMISSIONED Second Lieutenant, USMCR, 30 June 1943 at Quantico; accepted appointment same date and assigned to the 31st Reserve Officers' Class, Marine Corps Schools, Quantico, for duty under Instruction.

Active Service Assignments

27 Sep 1943; joined 1st Raider Company, Raider Battalion, Training Center, Camp Pendleton, California, for duty under instruction; later joined Company F, Infantry Battalion, Training Center, Camp Elliot,
San Diego, for duty as a physical education instructor.
26 Jan 1944; embarked aboard the USS Mormacport at San Diego and departed the continental United States for duty in the South Pacific.
1 May to 10 Aug 1944; as a Platoon Commander participated in action against the enemy forces in the British Solomon Islands and in the Marianas Islands.
1 Nov 1944; joined Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion, 22nd Marines, 6th Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific, as Battalion Intelligence Officer and remained a member of that command until his death.

Lieutenant Harrison was drowned 3 November 1944, near Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands.
