Military Training

Enlisted in the Army of foe United States as a Flying Cadet, 10 February 1941. Feb 41 to July 41; Air Corps Training Detachment, (Basic), Ontario, Calif. July 41 to Sep 41; AC Tng Det, Advanced Flying School, Stockton, Calif.
Graduated from the Army Air Corps Training Program as Pilot, 26 September 1941 and honorably discharged.

COMMISSIONED Second Lieutenant, Air Corps Reserve, 26 September 1941; accepted appointment same date and entered active duty 27 Sep 41.
COMMISSIONED First Lieutenant, AC Reserve, 27 September 1944.

Active Service Assignments

Oct 1941 to Jan 1945; 28th Bombardment Squadron, 19th Bomb Group, Southwest Pacific Area.

Lieutenant Milligan was killed* in action, 9 January 1945, while a Prisoner of War, at Takau, Formosa.
