Jul to Oct 1943; as signed to the 7th Training Regiment-Infantry Replacement Training Center, Fort McClellan, Alabama.
Oct to Dec 1943; promotional assignment to the Army Specialized Training Unit, City College, Los Angeles.
Jan to Apr 1944; emergency assignment to the 382d Infantry Regiment, Anti-Tank Battalion, Camp White, Oregon.

*'Larry Neil Phillips completed his basic training at Ft McClelland with HONORS, resulting in his being selected for specialized training at City College, Los Angeles. Before this assignment could be completed, an overseas emergency situation necessitated his being reassigned, together with a group of other selectees, to Camp White for specialized Anti-Tank training. All members of this group were pegged as PFC s and scheduled for immediate shipment overseas. Before this could happen, however, Larry and three others were asphyxiated by the accidental overturning of their tank’.
