10 Aug 1917; transferred to 35th Company, Marine Barracks, Mare Island.
9 Nov 1917; joined the 2660th Provisional Battalion, Marine Barracks, Quantico, Virginia.

Active Service Assignments

8 Dec 1917; embarked aboard USS DeKalb at Newport News, Va, and sailed to St. George, New York.
14 Dec 1917; departed the continental United States for France.
25 Jan 1918; joined 49th Company, 5th Marines, American Expeditionary Forces.
Jan to June 1918; participated in action against enemy forces in France until his death.

Private First Class Kidwell was killed in action on 6 June 1918, Toulon Sector, Aisne Defense, Chateau Thierry, France.
